Cut brush back 180' down property line and cut 12" diameter and a 6" diameter tree down and cut it all up and still have half battery power cuts just as good as gas powered saw awesome for home owner around the house never would have thought electric cordless chain saw would be that awesome guess technology is getting betterJames
Best chainsaw I have ever owned. Have had gas and electric but this is far better. I was not sure about a battery chainsaw but this works great. It is easy to use. The battery lasts a long time and recharges quickly. It is not too heavy. I have cut down trees and limbed trees and cut lots of firewood.Lin
In most situations, it is superior to my gas saws
I was pleasantly surprised with how well this WEN chainsaw cuts and how long the battery lasts. I have two gas chainsaws and a small corded electric, and this one is clearly my favorite.
I have not timed it, but I would estimate that the 4amp battery will last about 30 minutes of continuous cutting. I did cut through a 12" pine (with a sharp chain) in 25 seconds. Therefore, if my estimate is correct, the 4amp battery and a sharp chain should make it through about 60 of these cuts.
Other advantages over gas is that this saw is not as loud and is lighter than my gas saws (much lighter than my larger STIHL) and I really like the ability to stop it and put it down to clear the area without having to restart it (just pull the trigger).
Since I also have their lawnmower and blower, I have two 4amp and two 2amp batteries. The 2amp batteries are good for smaller jobs since they are lighter, and especially with the 2amp battery, this saw is somewhat lighter than my smaller gas and much lighter than my bigger Stihl. One 4amp battery will probably give you of cutting time (i.e., the saw will outlast me on a single outing). And I really like the ability to stop the saw to clear the area without having to restart the saw (just pull the trigger).valueshopper
