Philips Avent Natural 2 Ounce Bottle is ideal for newborns and preemies. The First Flow nipple has a slower, more controlled flow rate and the small container helps ensure the appropriate amount for baby?s smaller tummy. The wide breast-shaped nipple on the Natural bottle promotes natural latch-on so you can easily combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding. The ultra soft nipple mimics the feel of the breast. Our flexible spiral design combined with the comfort petals allow for a natural movement while baby feeds. The bottles have unique Airflex vent technology integrated into the nipple and are designed to reduce colic and discomfort by venting air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold and easy for small fingers to grasp. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. The Natural bottle is made from polypropylene, a BPA free material, and works with all nipples and caps from the Natural line. SCF019/25

Gassy Baby? Get Avent Natural!
I was given these bottles to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I did not receive any financial incentive to provide this review.
I Love the Avent bottles and have been using them for a while. This particular bottle is very small and only holds 2 oz of milk, which your baby will outgrow very quickly. But, for the first month or so these bottles are perfect! They are small enough that I can have a few bottles ready to go for a few feedings in advance since I make a lot of milk when I pump. That wat, my husband just has to reach into the fridge and grab a bottle instead of defrost frozen milk!
The nipples on this bottle are wonderful because they are very flexible and easy for the baby to latch onto. Because they are wide and breast-shaped, they go great with breastfeeding babies. the extra air is released from the bottle when the baby latches onto it to reduce gas. I love that anti-colic vent.
Because these bottles are so small, they are a little hard to hold onto but the bigger bottles are very easy to hold and feed with.
I just had my third child and every single one of my babies has been super gassy and has lots of spit up after feedings. I exclusively breastfeed but I pump so my husband can give the baby a bottle sometimes and I can have a little break! We tried several different bottles all with different nipples- Dr. Browns, Avent, and Nuk. I think it's important to have a variety of nipple choices available to ensure the best fit for my baby. My baby took to all three but we have had the best results with the Avent nipples and bottles. The other nipples were either too fast of a flow for him which resulted in wasting my "liquid gold" (any mom who has pumped knows how painful it is to watch her milk being wasted!) or they seemed like it took him too long to get a good flow going. With the Avent Natural Newborn Nipple, he latched well right away and didn't get fussy because the flow was just right. It wasn't too fast or slow and nothing was leaking out of the corners of his mouth. I personally love these nipples because they do not leak ( aka- not wasting the breastmilk!) while he is sucking on them.
When my husband gives the baby the bottle, he stops every 2 oz to burp the baby (pediatrician recommended) to ensure that he doesn't get too many gas bubbles in his tummy. As for the other bottles we tried, he seemed to have a lot of gas and fussiness afterward. With the Avent bottles, the baby was hardly fussy at all after his bottle. I credit the flow and shape of the nipple!
One more thing that I love about the Avent nipples/bottles is how easy they are to clean. There aren't a ton of parts you have to take apart and wash, just the nipple, ring, and bottle. With other bottles, the extra parts are so time consuming to clean, sterilize, and put back together. The Avent bottles are a breeze to clean and reassemble compared to the other bottles.
Overall, I love the Avent brand! Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me the Philips Avent Natural Newborn Bottles!bfranco
New favorite bottle
We have been struggling with some gas and colic in our newborn lately, and these bottles provided a pleasant reprieve from that. The bottles were very easy to wash thoroughly and assemble for each feeding. The vent made a difference in the colic/gas our newborn experienced each time we used them. The bottles also feel great in the hand, they weren't uncomfortable to hold - the ergonomic shape is appreciated! Overall we are really enjoying using these bottles on a daily basis. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Devon81
great bottle for breastfed newborn!
I love this bottle for my 3 week old! She latched on immediately and the vent seemed to work well at keeping her from ingesting too much air. I also appreciate that it doesn't have a million little parts to keep track of and keep clean. I also love the small size because it is perfect for the needs of a newborn. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle to try! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Kschnorf
